Description: |
I admit it, I'm a Rock Hound. I can't resist picking up rocks. So why not paint the things that I like? Painted rocks? No, paintings of rocks. Hence, The Geology Series. "The Geology Series, Chryscolla in Quartz" is another example of my innovative Recycled Plastics Technique. The recycled plastic gives the canvas a wonderful surface texture. This texture is not only interesting to look at but creates a desire to touch the piece. This extreme texture is unattainable with any kind of paint gels. The canvas requires extensive preparation before the painting can begin. This is not something that can be rushed. This process is one that I have developed over a long period of time. Creating these paintings is not a simple process, but it is enjoyable and I love how it keeps evolving. I love the way these pieces look. They always get noticed and commented on in my studio. |
