What is a Innovative 3-D Art Molded Canvas Painting?

First I start with unprimed canvas, stretched on a custom-made, extra-sturdy frame. The design is then transferred to this layer. Next, a second layer of canvas is glued to the first layer, using a special water-proof, permanent adhesive to bond the 2 layers together. The raised sections are tightly stuffed with a non-bio degradable material. Then the edges of the two layers are glued together. Finally the whole assembly is given multiple layers of gesso, and the design is again transferred to the gesso prepped canvas. That's when the painting begins. 

     This technique requires a lot of tedious work and time, but I think the results are worth the effort. I really like the 3-dimensional aspect, you can't help but want to touch the canvas. The whole "Old Quilt Series" is wonderful. The canvas is actually stiff and hard, but looks so soft and comfy, I kept getting the urge to curl up and take a nap.
